Marx and CXR figures do you have in your collection? You also can count accessories, such as horses, wagons, etc. I'm sure that some on the Ranch have quite extensive collection! For the sake of the post, I have 12, Marx and CXR, and 1 horse.

I counted 95. There are a few put away somewhere and I only counted the western figures. Mine is a modest collection compared to Scott, Dave, Eddie, and some others I know of.

Size doesn't matter as long as you enjoy your collection! Sorry couldn't resist.
Jay are you looking total numbers of all or total of different figures? Example: Does 10 USA Black TBolts count as one type or ten toys?

Good question, Mitch. Guess I'm looking for total number of figures, although total of different figures would be good as well. Which brings up another question; when collecting, why does one choose to collect more than one of the same character of figure? Is it because of a color change, a version change, a series change (i.e. BOTW, JWA)? Would the CXR Jed Gibson, Sheriff Garrett, Johnny West all be considered new figures or variations of older figures?

Hmmm! Jay I didn't really choose to collect variations, different colors, body styles, country of origin, etc., as much as stumbled onto them and then my German nature took over. You know us Germans if your missing one its not a set! My original intent was to get one of every figure made in the US and from there found different variations and from there found Canadian, Mexican, UK, German, Spanish, and so on. I didn't collect customs and repops until Noah and Terri gave me one of theirs as a gift for running Johnny West University and then I ended up buying all of their boxed figures and have moved onto Marx Mint and others. I think most collectors start with one vision and then it grows from there. I will try and get an answer on total collection numbers tonight or tomorrow.

I am with Blinpig on that one except I am not German. I actually started buying the kids, got all 4 boxed from Jill on an eBay auction and then I discovered CXR and it is history from there. I do not know an actual number, if I had to guess I would say 800 figures, 10 wagons, 40 horses. Luckily I have slacked off on JW purchasing.

Well the toy inventory that is Marx and Marx related, Viebroflex/American Metal Box/Etc., is over 1300 as I have one more box of horses and figures to do. A rough estimate of different variations is somewhere between 400 and 500 as in many cases I have doubles, triples, etc.. This includes 9 inch action figures and 6 inch toys like Nutty Mads, Disney, and assorted others. Another factor is that a number of these are horses and common figures which I have picked up over the years at garage sales, flea markets, and other places when they are cheap. "Hi my name is Mitch and I am Marx Toy Horse Addict! It has been three weeks since my last toy horse purchase!".

I do like to have the box variations. They look good when you display them together. Like everyone else I collect a lot. When I go on vacation I map out where all the antique stores are along the way. Lately I have been collecting more antiques than toys did make some major Matchbox buys.

Hey Jay,
Have you ever heard the expression?
"He can't dance he has 2 left feet"
Well that's what I named my first figure a Zeb which I shared @ Wheeling possible first visit.
A factory error of either 2 left or right lower legg portion from factory.
Occasional both feet on wrong leggs & one that also has a reversed upper legg thigh.
