Here's a teaser for my annual (well, it's supposed to be annual) Halloween Project. This year, it will be [glow=red,2,300]The Tale of Sir George in the Lair of the Double Dragon[/glow]The body armour is custom-made, cast from epoxy (reinforced with fiber glass cloth). Because of time constraints, the arm pieces are painted Marx-vintage. The body is a vintage gold knight with General Custer head. His missing arms were replaced with homemade copies (more epoxy/fiberglass), and his toes were badly melted, so I trimmed them off, and shoved on some cavalier boots from eBay. Sure, Ole' Goldilocks looks good, but is he ready to face the Double Dragon? -Todd PS: The last picture is tinted by putting my thumb over the flash. That's real [glow=red,2,300]blood red[/glow] lighting, people!

Thanks! As my sister puts it, I have some skill, but not much talent. As an artist, I'm a pretty good computer engineer. The good news is that with a little skill (which comes from practice), you can sometimes fake having talent. The talented guy was the unknown (probably Chinese) sculptor that designed the cheapie plaque that I based the breastplate on (and the decoration for the shield, backplate, etc.). If I had to sculpt it myself, I'd still be stuck at "lump of clay". I am pleased with the color scheme - my projects don't usually come out this close to what I had in mind. -Todd

Sir George is looking pretty calm in that last picture but I guess if you'd been through as much as Gen. Custer has been through, the two-headed dragon isn't much...

Sir George scrambles back to his feet in the nick of time! Sir George gets the upper hand! "This guy's not so tough..." "I mean, he's got two heads and can breath fire and stuff..."

"But seriously, what's the big deal about the 'Double Dragon'?" "Waaaaaaaaaait..." "Aw, crap..." ( That's why they call it 'the Lair of the Double Dragon'. ) And so ends the Tale of Sir George in the Lair of the Double Dragon. [glow=red,2,300]Happy Halloween![/glow]-Todd

"Aw, crap." That literally made me laugh out loud! Exactly what I said on my hog hunt when he had broken off 2 arrows and the third arrow was sticking out of his left side. "Don't fall on your left side... don't fall on your left side... doooooonnnnnn't..... aw crap."
Nice work with the fire, too!
