A good toy haul this time and several other items. That is the Bar M Ranch I believe. A huge mallard, the wingspread is over 3 feet. Inside the tin litho cabin. The figures are the chubbies from the early 50s. They hadn't gotten the soft plastic figure thing down yet. Possibly their best ranch building as this one has a porch. Vintage household goods $6 for all. The ranch was $30. A little concrete fawn, looks vintage. A large framed butterfly Vintage GI Joe for $40. The M1 carbine is KO but everything else is vintage. Has a nice backpack. Colgate Vaseline soap dish. Remember if it is green it is not Vaseline. According to the weather report it was 103 in Pasadena. Probably hotter as this was on the asphalt parking lot of the Rose Bowl. About 75% less shoppers but better deals for me.

Fort: Nice pick-up. The GI Joe peaks my interest. I collected GI Joe from 1969-1998, but sold most of my collection. It looks to be a "hard head" red painted hair Joe, as from the picture, it looks like the fatigue cap fits loosely. Lots of the vintage 1964-68 Joes have "shrunken" heads due to the type of plastic used, environment, how they were stored, etc. Some develop "pin-heads," in which the pin that is inserted from the neck through the bottom of the head pushes against the top of the shrunken head, developing a "pin head." The head plastic also can harden over the years. If you have a semi-pliable GI Joe painted hair version, you have a rarity now. Nice condition, though. You got a nice steal at $40. Same figure, depending on stress cracks/lack thereof in the knee and pelvis area, would go for $150 and up in the early 1990s....

Love the ranch set. I assembled one a few years ago, thanks to an estate sale I went to & a few pieces I had left from childhood. Still can't get my hands on a chimney though.

Thank you very much everyone. Took off the GI Joes uniform, probably has not been done since the 60s. Looks pretty clean. I'll try another picture of the trademark etc later. No other markings on the other cheek that the repro joes have.

Joe looks VERY clean and nice; it is the earlier Pat Pending version, too. Nice painted rivets and no visible stress cracks (that are common) above the knee joints. Very nice. You got a steal! He's at least an $85 Joe even without the off-brand rifle....

Knew it would be good when I saw that he had no hair rubs. Didn't even bother to haggle. I have at least two other small head joes but no pin heads.

Great haul Fort!! aside from the obvious great deals I am checking out the "several other items" category. Especially the glue & Vadun-stuff :)Mainly because I vaguely remember the others..lol. Really like the butterfly, fawn and mallard too! Nance

Thank you very much Nance. The Vaseline glass soap dish may have been my best buy. I paid $15, sold value on ebay is $95. There is much confusion about Vaseline glass most people seem to think that green depression glass is Vaseline glass but it is not.
