Hello, I've been very busy with work this year, but slowly, but surely building shelves for my figures to display. We moved a couple of years ago & somehow I lost my list of figures so I need help identifying some CXR heads/figures I got from the Coops years ago. Hope someone can help! I labeled the pic by numbers to help: 1 - African American female's name? I have her as a trapper. 2 - African American male's name? I have him as a trapper. 3 - African American male's name? I think this was an early CXR head/figure because it is a harder plastic/rubber. Possibly just Jed Gibson with a beard? Not sure if this one came with the calvary body or not. 4- African American male's name? Not sure if this one came with the calvary body or not. Some reason I think he was intended as a Sergeant or Sergeant Major? 5 - Caucasian Cowgirl name? I think her last name was West? 6 - Caucasian Cowgirl name? I painted the hair I know. I think her last name was West as well? Joan West? Maybe I'm thinking that because she reminds me of Joan O'Arc? 7 - Native American male's name? I think he was intended as a calvary scout. 8 - Hispanic male's name? I believe I did the hair paint. Intended as a bandito? Any help in identifying is much appreciated, Highlander Marx

Hello Highlander
Below should be the correct names for 7 of the 8 heads. You can still see the "Julia" and "Pearl Hart" heads at marxmanbros.com. The Buffalo Soldiers you can find at the Yahoo Group. In the photo albums section Noah has a folder for the Buffalo Soldiers.
1. Julia 2. Elijah Hamilton 3. Samuel Cooper 4. Emery Cotton 5. Suzie Cobra (answered at Yahoo site as well) 6. Pearl Hart 7. Truly wish I knew because I recently picked one of these figures up. Looks a lot like "Barking Wolf", face is the same but the hair is certainly different, I have the Barking Wolf figure as well. 8. Poncho Villa

Thanks so much John! Those all sound correct from what I remembered after reading your post especially Emery Cotton & Poncho Villa. Like you, not sure about #7 Wolf migh tbe correct, but I don't recall the Barking part. Of course, I couldn't recall any after the many years until now.
Thanks again! Highlander MarX
PS I might be asking about others in the future. I have more just haven't gotten to those boxes yet. More shelves have to be built first!

John,
I found the #7 head (sort of). It's on the marxmanbros.com site under MBC Heads, Catalog Painted Heads, 1st set of 10 heads (1st page), 2nd row, 2nd head, but this one is Caucasian. Possibly I might have asked Noah to make a Native version for me, can't remember.
I know I have the 9th one on that page somewhere. No idea on name (Bruce something?).
On the next page of the painted heads I have the Vincent Price inspired one (I think he was intended as an undertaker), the Native boy (Little Bear?) & the African American boy (Tobias Gibson - pretty sure on that one).
On the last page of painted heads, I think I have the 4th one.
Any idea on those?

I have Julia, Emory Cotton & Suzie Cobra, but couldn't remember their names until John's reply.

I wasn't involved with the ranch when Noah was producing these figures unfortunately but it might be nice to try and catalog them here on the website as a reference. Any of you more seasoned ranchers game? I know it would be nice to be able to identify them on ebay and other auctions versus the customs that others have made.

Highlander,
I totally agree, that Caucasian head is identical to #7. The name for the Caucasian version is "Nate or Nathaniel Parker".
You are right with the 9th guy his first name is Bruce and his last name is "Dakota".
I'm pretty sure the Indian boy in-between the Undertaker and Tobias "Tony" Gibson is "Brave Hawk". I use your idea of combining Noah's Mohawk "Little Bear" head with the 7.5" Chief Red Cloud body. It makes one awesome figure.
Tucker O'Connell should be the name of the 4th one on the last page.
By the way I love your photo album at the Yahoo Ranch! Your custom work is absolutely amazing! Lots of inspiration in that album!

Blindpig,
I think that's an excellent idea. I know the names of most of the figures I see out there but I still have about five that I do not know the names that Noah and Terri gave them.

I think we have a good start here if folks who own these could post full figure pictures and then any info they have regarding them that would be great. Did the earlier figures come with accessories? On an unrelated note if anyone has a extra Emory Cotton available for trade or sale I might have an interest.

Blindpig,
Out of these 8 the only one that came with a body & accs. was the Samuel Cooper as far as I can remember. His head is a harder plastic, not a softer rubber like the others. He is not the same head as the one pictured in the Noah Buffalo Soldiers folder that John mentioned earlier (thanks John - that folder really helped). I got him about the same time I got the General Kirk Odinson figure in the box from Noah. I got the Gen Odinson for naming him in a contest. The bodies are from the Marx Mint (former Custers) so they are a brighter blue than the later CXR calvary steel blue color & came with the accs from the Marx Mint. I could be wrong, but they were before CXR started making their own accs.

John, Thanks for the kind words about my customs. I wish I could get the rest of these shelves done so I can get them all out & figure out what accs. I'm missing. I just realized I have more CXR heads that I used to make Robin Hoode & his band for another contest back in the day (see my folder Marks Marx). A couple of more weeks of teaching & I can get to the shelves! I have one project somewhat similar to the buckskin that I converted to a moose that I am dying to get to. Another broken buckskin I started it years ago. A "mount" that you can ride, but not equine in nature. The US calvary tried an experiment with this animal, but basically failed in their attempt (probably gave it away with that hint). I am bound & determined to get it done this summer. That & the display shelves. Here is the start of the shelves: i121.photobucket.com/albums/o216/vegap2/IMG_0760_zps7d81a2a2.jpgHighlander MarX

Just noticed I have Samuel Cooper in white calvary accs. need to change back to the black & silver Marx Mint accs. Also, need to repaint Pearl Hart's hair to brown to match the Marxmanbros.com catalog head. Must be accurate!
I need to get some sleep, Highlander Marx

D&D, Never heard of that movie, I'll have to check it out. Yes, you are correct. Here are the humble beginnings: marqueedesign.deviantart.com/gallery/33618120He looks a little funny right now. A lot of sanding to do, add the hump & his whole backside/under carriage to do. Highlander MarX
