I thought this might be an interesting topic; many of us were or are collecting vintage and new CXR figures, but what vintage figures do you STILL have from your childhood?
Mine:
1. General Custer, complete with partial Sears mail-order box 2. Geronimo, complete with original FAF box 3. Erik the Viking, near complete (need a replacement cape) with some broken pieces 4. Johnny West, head, hands, vest, strongbox, and one bag of gold dust. The body has long-since crumbled, but I kept the springs. 5. Chief Cherokee, head, hands, and body springs. Body completely fell apart about 10 years ago.

Two Johnny Wests, Zachary, Custer, Maddox, Geronimo, & Daniel Boone. Heavy playwear, practically no accessories were left & Daniel made do with a pair of Johnny arms for about 40 years, but I replaced it all when I a got a computer & found Ebay.

Cool posts so far. I have lost Johnny West, Jay West, Chief Cherokee, and Sir Gordon to the "caramel" or "near caramel" body crumbling effect, unfortunately. I wish I still had my Sir Gordon, as it was my FIRST Marx figure. I was given it as a present in 1969 when I was three years old. Somehow, the reissued knights, although pretty cool, just weren't the same with the large, delicate boxes (except for the Black Knight).
With the reissues, we have the Silver Knight, Blue Knight, Black Knight, and Odin the Viking. Since my oldest is "into" Johnny West now (for the past 6 years or so), we've tried to add a few here and there. I remember that as kids, my brother and I would try to "divide" the figures so that we each would get different ones and thus help complete a set, but neither of us wanted Odin for some reason, so we both got Erik the Viking!

Johnny West, Sam Cobra, Geronimo, Big Jim and a GiJoe. I have picked up many accessories for them throughout the years, accessories I had lost. Also picked up their boxes and manuals.

Maddog - very cool. GI Joe-wise, I still have the Secret of the Mummy's Tomb (Adventure Team) complete with the talking AT Commander. I had his voice box repaired several years ago by Joe Degrella, the GI Joe Medic. Not sure if he's still in business or what, as I've lost touch with the 12" vintage GI Joe hobby in the past 10 years or so…
As a follow-up, I'd love to acquire a first edition complete Big Jim (yep, used to have him) with the barbell, arm strong band, breaking board and orange trunks, but pretty much all I've seen on eBay the arms are discolored, etc. That was a cool toy! Especially the Kung Fu Studio playlet.

I still have most of my GI Joes, the Mummy's Tomb set & the Headquarters. Those sets are in excellent condition...they were the last Christmas Joe stuff I got & hardly played with as I was getting too old for toys, but my grandma didn't realize it, lol. It was all still in her closet until she passed. I recently got my talking soldier fixed after about 45 years of silence, when he went swimming in her wringer washer, lol.

Sadly, I passed all of my Marx figures and G.I.Joes (intact and pretty much complete ) on to the sons of a family friend. I regretted this as they destroyed them within the 1st month they had them. They always played so nice with them when they were at my house. I had 2 Johnny West's, Chief Cherokee, Mike Hazard, General Custer, Sir Stuart, 2 Thunderbolts 1 real G.I.Joe, and Half a dozen wannabe Joes that my folks bought at a clearance sale. (don't recall the maker, foreign made I think. They had kind of howdy duedy faces and hands that sucked but the accessories and uniforms were as good as Joes.) While restoring my dads 1968 Pontiac Firebird (back in @ 1980) I found either Johnny's or Cherokee's bowie knife, after removing the back seat. This brought back a rush of great memory's (and regrets ) I placed it in a box of mementos. In the 1990's I discovered a collectable toy store in west Phoenix (Culture Classics) They had 2 Johnnys and a hole lot of Marx accessories! Bought em up and started on the hunt ! Swap meats and other collectable toy shops mostly. And then came E-Bay! The rest is history! My Marx gang reunited !

Great topic! I have my five original Marx western figures from the early 1970s--Johnny West, Sam Cobra, Geronimo, Custer, and Maddox. Also have Thunderbolt and the covered Wagon with the red horse. I have replaced lost or broken accessories, but they are my originals. My Circle X Ranch house was ruined when my grandma's basement flooded, but I still have a couple of pieces of the furniture.
I have a huge collection now--over 300 custom cavalry guys, hundreds of Indians, hundreds of cowboys and gunslingers, etc. Custom buildings, the fort and half a dozen ranches. My son asked me which ones I would get rid of or sell. My reply was immediate: the only ones thaf I would keep no matter what are those originals!
Also still have my original Lone Ranger, Tonto, and Big Jim--including the camper and airplane. Rough, but still with me!

Let's see - Geronimo, Stormcloud, Custer, Cobra, Palo TB & Black TB were mine. My little brother had Johnny, the 2 boys, both Panchos, Cherokee, Sorrel TB & Palo TB which he traded to me for my half of the Matchbox cars. Sometimes I think he got the better of the deal - less storage space LOL!
Inherited a carmel Cobra & FE from my uncle from NY & some other stuff that I can't remember now. Should've kept track of where I got stuff from over the years. Found a lot during the 90's at flea markets, etc. - don't see much anymore now that there is ebay.
Still have a lot in storage, but I'm working on shelves. Hope to have done by Summer! Will post when completed.
