That was Great! Thanks for bringing that to the bunkhouse! The only ones that they did not show that i can think of, and they were new comers, were Peter Duel and Ben Murphy, from "Alias Smith and Jones"

Wow,,,thanx fer sharin' Tumbleweed, that was really amazingly detailed, I like it,,, it's like a short film history class of the "American Western!" I'm proud to say that I was familiar, with each & every star/film/TV show mentioned! & as the Ramrodkid mentioned, newcomers would itself be a whole other video, with shows like "Kung Fu," with David Carradine!http://youtu.be/siBtPg5CtI4 ,,,and everythin' that's come down the pike, since then; up to, & includin', & who knows what genre ya wanna put this in,,,"Sukiyaki Western Django!" www.hulu.com/watch/263348/sukiyaki-western-django?c=Action-and-Adventure/Westerns A Japanese Western, that's a prequel to "Django," a Spaghetti Western. which as we speak, Quentin Tarantino, is doing a remake of, that's due out some time this year!!! It's gonna be called, "Django Unchained," Jamie Fox, has the lead, as Django, & the rest of the cast looks stellar!!! www.tarantino.info/wiki/index.php/Django_Unchained So, I reckon Spaghetti Westerns would be a whole other video! Cuz I've got almost an equal amount of American, & Spaghetti Westerns, in my collection!!! & Many of my fave stars, played in both genres!!! One film I didn't see mentioned was "Johnny Guitar," a long time fave, which I just added to the collection, here's a YouTube link! youtu.be/X61HXawV96w sure, I'm a little biased, cuz I now own it, & have taught myself the song on Guitar; but the film falls into the era, & it's about as American, as ya can get!! The Classic struggle between Ranchers, & Homesteaders, with love triangles thrown in, that would make Shakespeare sit up & go, "Damn!" So Sterling Hayden, & Joan Crawford, hereby get honorable mention, in a verbal extension, to this film, okay Ranchers! oh, & I could be wrong, but I don't think I saw mention of the actor Scott Brady, who played the Dancin' Kid, in "Johnny Guitar," he had his own show called "Shotgun Slade!" Thanx again, fer postin' this Tumbleweed, as ya can probably tell, it's a subject, near to my heart! Adios Amigos! Mykol Attachments:

Howdy Ranchers,,, Yep Eva, (Mercedes Cambridge) was great as the "Evil Bitch," what's the phrase today's Rappers coined,,,,,,,,,,,,,, "Player Hater!" She personifies both phrases rather well, as well as Vienna ( Joan Crawford) portrayed the "Jilted Lover, Strong Woman,("Get In My Way & I'll Walk Over You Gal!) Woman With A Plan!" I know what ya mean Tumbleweed (Kieth); that's why I mentioned Shakespeare! Philip Yordan wrote the screenplay based on the novel by, Roy Chanslor; & I don't think Shakespeare, had anything over Roy!! The Story, & Characters are Epic! While at the same time, are familiar to us all, which makes it so that b4 we even get half way into the film, we wanna see Eva take a bullet! Don't feel like ya live under a rock Ramrodkid, it wasn't until recently, that I re-familiarized myself with the film! I'd seen it, when I was a kid, probably when I was still playin' with Johnny West; (Not that I don't anymore! ) I had it in the back of my memory, but couldn't place it!! In one of my dozen or so "Saved Searches," on eBay, a while back I came across the movie poster up fer auction, which caught my eye! & later that same week my son gave the the PS3 Game, "Fallout New Vegas," in which, there are Night Clubs, & even the Radio Stations on your PipBoy , which play classic Rat Pack, & Vegas performers, as well as Old West Tunes, from the Silver Screen; among those Vegas tunes, is the song "Johnny Guitar," sung by Peggy Lee!!! As soon as I heard it, I put 2 & 2 together, did a YouTube search and found, not only the movie, but this precious film, of Peggy performing the song in an "Old West," set, in which the broken Guitar hangs on a post!! youtu.be/SDkAfibuCnI I've heard & seen the video dozens of times in the past month, & it still sends a chill up my spine! The movie, & song were so popular, that it lingered & evolved in time, & has taken many forms; this is one of my faves! I'm sure you'll dig it! I wanna do a Johnny West animated film, with this as the soundtrack! youtu.be/0InX3xdg-Rk Not only is the video "Classic," (I was 2 when it came out) but it's combines the "Surf Sound," of the "New West," with the original tune, from the/or depicting the "Old West!" & it helped me learn it on the Guitar!!! If ya wanna learn it,,,here's a video I found! youtu.be/Fdl_STbnbZI (electric) youtu.be/4jm2ItQrFC4 (acoustic) I reckon, once I have this form of the song down; I can call myself a guitar player! The pix I attached, in honor of the movie & song, is the Johnny & Jane I used to pose for the Coloring Book Illustration, with Johnny on lead guitar, Jane on rythm, & I've since added Janice on Ukalealee,(spelled that wrong I know) & Jamie on Banjo!! Terri has some Johnny West Circle X Ranch Coloring Books on eBay right now!! Check it out Ranchers! www.ebay.com/itm/110807426950?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 Let's keep this thread going, & talk about more of our favorite Westerns, Classics, & otherwise!! I'll save sharin' more videos & links, til next time! Adios Amigos! Mykol Attachments:

Thanks Mykol ! that tune is great! I'm picturing a spaghetti western in an old dusty Mexican town....huuuuuum. Don't know which of these versions I like best! I have absolutely no musical talent at all, but my son is working on teaching himself the guitar, I will pass these links on to him and see if he takes an interest! Who know maybe I could use his classical rendition! Just a heads up,,,, If all goes well with my next prodject,(roofing) I will get started on my next stop motion movie next week! RRk

You can't help but think western, especially spaghetti western when you start of with a lead Mexican guitar like that. I had never heard it before on electric guitar, it was pretty good. I am old fashioned and l like aucoustic and acapella singing. But I know the perfect song for you image. It's by Johnny (Cash n June Carter) Daddy sang base, Momma sang tenor, then me an little brother joined right in there. I know you set the scene up that way. Johnny, one of o Hank Jr.'s rowdy friends.
