I didn't realize what a mess Yahoo had made of their boards, until the second day of the change. Like others, my 'puter locked up, and refused me access to any of my groups. I was hoping the public outcry would return things to normal. I stopped off at the ranch on Yahoo tonite, and saw that the old format is back. That's also how I found out about the move to here. I know I don't say it enough, but I'm offering a BIG THANK YOU to Terri and Noah for keeping the Ranch alive. I'm sure running a website can be a handful, but ya'll handle it without breaking a sweat. I like this setup better than Yahoo, anyway. It's good to see some names I recognize from my other boards here, as well. Thanks again Terri. Camo

It took me three tries, but here I am. I guess you CAN teach an old dog new tricks, lol. I've moseyed around a bit & like what I see. I think this will be just fine. Yahoo, who?

It took me 3 tries too. 1st two times it said I had 2 different emails so I copied and pasted the 1st one into the 2nd box. That and I couldn't read the cryptic message.

Welcome one and all! Yes, those verification boxes can be a royal pain! It does help keep out robo-spammers, but . . . yeesh!
If you are a Facebooker, check us out there as well. Search "Circle X Ranch" for the quickest access. The page is at 89 followers and I will be giving away a prize when it reaches 100.

Well, I finally got around to moving over here! Now, to see how it works and how it goes. I'm still worried that we've lost the community that we had on the Ranch before Yahoo screwed everything up!

Hey Jim I think this is much better and we've had some good exchanges between old and new ranchers. So pull up a log and have a seat! Scott

Hey Scott, don't worry, I've got my seat and am all settled in. But I've never liked the forums because it is too much work to go through all of the various places to see what is going on. That may just be my hillbilly roots and natural laziness coming through, but I doubt I'll be as active as I sometimes was on the Yahoo Ranch for that very reason. I just won't take the time to go through every section. But I am here and trying! We've gained some folks . . . have we lost anyone?

I just won't take the time to go through every section. But I am here and trying! We've gained some folks . . . have we lost anyone? Hi Profjim, I get what you are saying. Here are a couple tricks I use to keep up with forum activity with a minimum of time & effort. First, after I a logged in, I click "new topics" at the top of the page. It is second from the left in the row of icons right under the forum name. That takes me to a screen that lists all the recent activity in all sections of the forum. The topics that have had posts made since my last visit are marked with a "new" icon. Then I go to the far right column and click on the date and time of the last post in the thread. (Not on the name of the poster, that will take you to their profile.) That takes me right to the new post without having to scroll through the whole thread. I usually scroll up a little when I am there though, just to make sure I have not missed any other new posts. When I am done reading in a thread, I use the back button to get myself back to the new topics page and then select the last post in the next thread. Use this method, I can scan through all the latest forum posts pretty quickly, and with a minimum of clicking & scrolling. It puts everything in one spot for you. I also feel much more sure that I have not overlooked anything new, either. I hope this is helpful to you. Regards, Canis
