Anyone recall these from the mid 1990s? They had a wide variety covering a lot of historical battles. I have Gettysburg & Little Big Horn. The quality control was hit & miss with part count, deformities & wrong pieces being common, but overall there were some pretty cool detailed pieces that are great for custom sets or dioramas. And at $12-$14, a good deal for all the stuff that came with them.

Yes, and most recently Hobby Lobby stores still carried The Battle of Lexington, and they do carry the bagged figures. Terry, you are right, the prices are very low, especially compared to re-issued Marx or Barzso, but the quality control does leave a lot to be desired...

I see a lot of Ebay sellers are actually trying to part these sets out like Marx sets, individual figures & such...in some cases asking vintage Marx prices, lol! Like someone's going to pay that for stuff that still won't be worth anything 50 years from now.

It pays to do one's homework prior to buying/selling on eBay. Especially buying. I am amazed at the number of auctions in which people pay exorbitant amounts for items they could acquire (not vintage) at the local Walmart or Target if they'd only expend a little physical energy to do so.

I have the Little Big Horn set. It is worth what I paid but not up to vintage marx standards. It was a nice try but they needed better sculpting and more 3 dimensional for the figures.

If you are looking for something of high quality and replicates the old Marx play set of the 1960s, look no further than Barzso. Although pricey (average of $250 for new playlets), Ron Barzso uses vacu-formed type buildings and environments, as well as stocking every play set with plenty of figures, accessories, trees, etc. Very cool stuff if you've got the coin. The Daniel Boone play set was outstanding….
