With the space left from moving the farm, I decided to finally unbox it & set it up. I think this was about the last of the Marx repro sets, sold in the 1995 Wishbook for around $20 if I recall correctly. Honestly, I'm a bit disappointed. Compared to the vintage sets & even some of the other repros, it's really chintzy & would definitely not hold up long to kidplay, providing a kid could stay interested long enough to wreck it, lol. IMO, not worth the $50 I paid a couple years ago, but it does look pretty cool on display. Terry Attachments:

It has a certain charm. Seems they just can't get the plastic color right and they come out much too bright. I've got a 90s flintones set that was $100 and I probably would have been better off investing in an original.

I was thinking the figures didn't look quite "right" & sure enough, a little research revealed they are actually from the Cape Canaveral set. Gotta wonder who was in charge of these repro sets. Oh well, at least they didn't use German soldiers or cavemen, LOL!

The 90s were a time of doing repros but not quite right. GI Joe started out with the bulky and unrealistic Duke but they eventually got it right.

Nice picture and display. I concur with the comment "the 90s were a time of doing repros but not quite right....", as I purchased a repro Ben Hur playset from Excalibur Hobbies (now Hobby Bunker) for $69 in the mid-90s, and the playset is pretty cool, but one of the chariots is mis-molded and cannot be assembled correctly. Still, my son loves to play with it, but prefers to play with my vintage Sears Heritage Alamo and Blue and Gray playlets.
