Nicely done . . . What IS it about Johnny West that no other toy offers? (rhetorical question).

Thanks for all the gracious comments all! It means a lot to get feed back from folks like you who share this toy bond relationship. I especially liked the rhetorical question comment! I'm hoping that I can inspire others to attempt a Stop Motion feature! This program I used (though a little pricey $85) make things a bit easier than the first couple at temps that I made. And the end result so much better ,with the sound effects and voices. I,m not looking for competition mind you but content. It would be great to see someone Else's interpretation and imagination unfold. I know many here have developed props and displays, as well as custom characters. Amy and Mykol have shared many great picks! How about it? Kevin P.S. Terry sorry about the misspelling, will correct

I was watching the Chuck Wagon Roundup, that's quite an interesting custom figure Cherokee Charlie. Has the Chiefs body with the lower legs of Johnny, looks like some real work went into building this guy. Excellent work! Brian C

The creation of Cherokee Charley was kind of an accident. After having purchased several loose parts offerings on E-Bay I wound up with bags of broken figure pieces. By grinding the rolled end of the rivets off arms and legs, I was able to remove Rivets smoothly. taking care to remove the broken joint parts,(harder on legs than on arms) I installed various sized eyelets (the style with the wood thread)into small pre drilled holes.I chose small 1/4 inch eyelets for the hips and shoulders, and 3/8 inch for the knees and elbows. Those eyelets need to be more robust to fit snugly into the lower knee and elbow slot, though you can shim (with washers or hot glue) where necessary before replacing the rivets,(which fit snug enough that you don't need to do anything else to them.)The only good feet that I had were Johnny's and the head was a Capt Maddox that some kid had black markered a 5O'Clock Shadow on(could not remove it) I just enhanced it, and went with it! (I do need to find a new chief torso as this one was damaged toward the end of filming!) Hazards of show bizz I guess! Kevin

Which Chief torso is that the 1965 version or the 1967 version. If it's the 1967 I have one I can send you. Brian C

Sorry that I was so slow to respond to your generous response. The chief torso used to create Cherokee Charley, is a 1965. I Identified it on Scott Stewart's web site. MGMLXV. Is their a reason that the 67version would not work? Thanks again Kevin.

The 1967 torso is different from the 1965 version, the legs won't fit correctly. I think I may have a 1967 torso with legs if you want to give Charlie a whole new body. The only thing is the legs are loose at the knees. The arms on a 1965 body are the same as the 1967 so the arms on Charlie should fit this body. Let me know if your interested and I can send it to you. Brian C

Thanks for the info Brian! I never realized that there were so many minor changes in the body's! I will search threw my bag of damaged parts and see if I have upper leg parts that might be from a 67. I kind of like how Charley's legs came out and would like to stay with design. Will let you know. Thanks again Kevin

I did just fab an artillery piece for a military feature staring the FAF. The title I,m thinking of "Corner Stones Of Fort Apache". I hoping to do my photo shoot in Jan,Feb.
