Playset 3398 plus extras The reddish brown dinos and some of the gray ones were on the card set. The dino card set was T Rex, Brontosaurus, Triceratops, Trachadon, Ankylosaurus, Dimetredon, Allosaurus, and Stegasaurus. The cavemen along with the cave/arch/pool piece. The original T Rex can be seen in the very back. aka the pot bellied rex. Sadly I didn't good pictures of the mammals from the prehistoric monsters set, they are over in the back left. The Prehistoric Monsters set had the best detail of the bunch. Sadly it is very late and their names are very hard to spell. I will get back to them. One last picture featuring the MPC prehistoric mammals (and bird). More later as we move on to Marx Dinos 201.

I recognize some pieces from when I was a kid...not sure if mine are Marx. I'll have to rummage, they're still around somewhere.

That's great. I had a bunch of the dinosaurs and prehistoric creatures themselves, but not the playset. My cousin had that, complete with cave and cavemen. We had hours and hours of fun. Most of the time we combined 'em with cowboys and played the 'Valley of Gwangi' after the Ray Harryhausen film.
I still have most of the critters. My mother saved them in a box for 40 years.
Thanks for putting the pics up. Lee

Yep, the cave and cavemen were very cool. I remember them as a kid. I believe the original cave color was orange plastic and the cavemen were yellow. Is that correct?

I have seen an orange cave and the cavemen did come in different colors. There were also some sets with large vacuform bases.
