Sounds great Scott. We will send a message.
Do you know if the new costumes and masks will fit the original Captain Action? Just debating on whether or not to buy a new figure.
Thanks, Lee

I've been told that they will fit - I know the uni's will just not positive how well the masks will - I think they'll be fine as they are complete head covers... Scott

It's with heavy heart that I have to announce the delay of the Captain Action releases. As we all know, things like this happen when dealing with large or small projects. Here's the note from Joe and Ed as they posted on the CA group: (let me know if you have any questions)
******quoted***********
Over the past few days, we had to make a tough decision. We're going to have delay Wave I of the new Captain Action line from being released this holiday season and push it back to March of 2012. We're generally bummed out, but the choice came down to (1) we rush to fix some quality issues and get it out by Christmas or (2) we take our time to ensure that the quality is where it must be.
On one hand, everyone on this list has been waiting years for new product and waiting more is just too painful. We certainly understand that. One the other hand, we know that no one on this list wanted anything that wasn't of top-notch quality. And that's what we've been wrestling with. Some of the little things just haven't been up to snuff. Are we picky? Are we perfectionists? Damn right we are. And we know you are too.
Let us pull back the curtain and let you know how we're going to fix these problem. Next week, a very senior manager of the toy group is going to spend 2 weeks in China focusing on this issue. And we've also hired a new tooling development engineer in China. They will be working very closely over the next two weeks, and beyond. This should ensure that we're on track for exciting, high quality toys.
And our plan is to have 3 waves of product in 2012, (March, June/July and October) so we'll be on track for a very collectible line. We are still will doing this without making it too big & expensive for many of us to afford. And just so you know, we're also keeping the prices where we have set them all along. No price increases.
We wanted you guys to know first. We're letting retailers know right now too. We'll put a press release to the general public late in the week. But you're the core and deserve to know about this delay and the reasons behind it.
We're frustrated, but we know this was the right thing to do. We hope you all agree.
Best,
Ed and Joe

I had a feeling this would happen. Playing Mantis had problems with China wjen they were making Captain Action figures. Kid Action may have been the right size if they had put more time into it.

Actually in a way it's good news for me. While looking forward to Cap's release, I was also kind of dreading it with winter bills starting at the same time. I'd also rather wait anyway if there are quality issues. Maybe by then I can even treat myself to some extra sets with my tax return, lol.

Too bad these figures couldn't be built in North America . . . Manufacturing standards are generally higher in this part of the world and, in turn, raise the retail costs for "home grown" products. (There always seems to be some kind of "trade-off" between quality and affordability. Hopefully a middle ground can be found so that everyone is happy!)

Too bad these figures couldn't be built in North America My sentiments exactly. It's a sad commentary when we can't even produce an affordable plastic figure & have to turn to manufacturers whose last concern is quality. Terry

Scott, Thank you for the heads up. This alters at least a part of our Christmas shopping plan, but better to know now. We will still hang in there with ya. Signed bummed in Maryland (Lee)

Arctic Adventurer? Did I miss one? I have the Captain and Dr. Evil Figures plus Spiderman, Thor, Captain America, and Loki. Fill me in and maybe a sale awaits! :^)

The Arctic Adventurer is the same as the standard cap with a different color costume and accessories. No fur parka or anything else.

The new Captain Action figures are pretty cool. I've seen several at my local Toys R Us before Christmas, and they had the Spider-Man outfit as well…. Well crafted.

Make sure you buy the deluxe sets. Much nicer than the basic sets at Toy R us. Plus they come with pieces to build the Hawkeye set. Right now I am way behind. Have 1 figure and the Captain America set. You pretty much need to buy a figure with each set because they tend to be difficult to put on and once on you won't want to change the costume.
