A boxed Sam Cobra for $30 & complete boxed camping set for $66 to name a couple examples of how prices have declined dramatically. I had the Cobra on watch as I've been needing the box for years, but never imagined it would go for the starting bid, so I didn't place one....bummer. It certainly would appear to be a buyer's market right now.

Conversely: Check out the other thread in this forum about the BLACK THUNDERBOLT for $366 (i.e. "Please Help"). T'ain't no rhyme nor reason!

That's nuts. I don't think I have that much invested in all my horses combined...around 20-25.

I haven't been able to get anything for the low low current prices. My next project will be the JWA series so I will see.

I listed some horse tack starting at $9.99 + $5.00 shipping and it went for $31.00 plus the shipping! 2 saddles + cinch straps, 3 stirrups, 4.5 saddle bags, and 2 blankets. Crazy!!

Funny how things go in cycles.
I am just about done with building my collection. Just keeping my eyes peeled for "replacement" pieces that are in better shape than the ones I already have. Plus a couple of odds 'n ends (e.g. the DARKEST GREEN version of Johnny.)
BTW: I never had the TRAVEL CASE that came out around 1974. By that time I had decided I was "too old to be playing with dolls" so did not buy a case then.
However, within the last two months I have bought THREE of these on eBay . . . all with the original shelves at a fraction of what I thought I would have to pay. Each was from a different Seller but combined with shipping the total was about $100 for the three. ;D
For the longest time I didn't see any posted and then - practically overnight - these were coming out of the woodwork.
Basic Economics, I guess: Supply and Demand.

The travel case is one of the things I don't have...had many chances at cheap ones, but couldn't imagine the hassle & expense of trying to find the shelves. Cool that you got them all complete.

Me, too. When I got the one WITHOUT the shelves, I thought I had really lucked out at that time.
Then to snag a few more WITH the original shelves . . . Hee Haw!!!
;D ;D
