Two B/W Stormclouds in one auction! If real, it's just not fair - it's like having the Holy Grail, and the OTHER Holy Grail...
(I personally think they would have done better to auction them separately, but what do I know?)

Wow. I think repaints as well. But who ever did the painting sure matched the pattern well.

I have to agree with the previous posts.....they look repainted.....I can see the Palomino on them. But what a match :-)!

I don't know, my b&w pinto has yellowing (glue) along the seams like these. These look to be in very good condition (almost too good). They do look like they have been repainted possibly.

Looks as though the paint has rubbed off - especially noticeable on BOTH tails. Does anyone with an original know what colour the plastic of the THUNDERBOLT horses would have been before any kind of paint job was done?

I made an inquiry of the SELLER.
This is her response:
As far as I can tell, there have not been any touch-ups to these horses' paint jobs. Like I mentioned there is yellowing of the glue on the horses, but other than that I think the paint jobs look pretty good.

Does anyone with an original know what colour the plastic of the THUNDERBOLT horses would have been before any kind of paint job was done? The B/W Stormclouds were white plastic with black paint. Since white plastic tends to yellow, especially at the glue seams, it's possible that the "palomino" color people are seeing is just discoloration. I think the seller would really do themselves a favor if they had some close-up pictures of the faces, tails, and undersides of the hooves (usually a giveaway on repaints). -Todd

The SELLER did reply to my inquiry - as shown above - but has not (yet) updated this information in her eBay listing . . . which would be useful for all Bidders/Buyers to know. Nor has she provided more detailed photos in the posting.
DISCLAIMER: Of course, I have assumed that she has had inquiries for particulars - several, no doubt, for other CXR members - but I could have presumed incorrectly.

The seller has not responded to my request for close ups of the "glue" areas so I am probably out. My current horse although scratched in a few places shows no evidence of glue staining so I am still leaning towards repaints. Although if they are they are very well done.

Well, someone sniped the TRIO - his/her single bid at 6 seconds before the close of the auction - for $215.45 smackeroos! Now the burning questions is: Will s/he re-list these two b/w PINTOS separately? And make a killing? P.S. FWIW, I did not bid on these horses.

"KACHING!!" Wow! That was quite the pile of coins!!! I reckon the seller is psyched!!! Not to mention, the buyer!!! I know I'd have a grin from ear to ear, had I gotten into that shoot out, & won! Adios, Mykol
