Point Nance! Funny how you never hear about sheep drives, sheepboys, and sheep rustlers! The cowboys must have had better press agents!

Eugene Orowitz aka Michael Landon! (See his movie of his life story, "Sam's Son,") This is my 1st guess, although, if he said that about, "Bonanza," I wonder what he'd say about "Little House on the Prairie!" OOOHH I know I'm a gonna catch hell from a few Ranchers, for even suggestin' that Little House, was mindless dribble fer the masses!

The oldest of five children, Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain was born September 8, 1828 in Brewer, Maine. General Chamberlain rode at the head of his troops in the Grand Review of the Army in Washington and after several weeks of additional duty, he returned to his home in Maine for additional treatment of his nearly mortal injury received in 1864. Mustered out of service in August 1865, he returned to peaceful pursuits and was elected governor of Maine in 1866. But his true interest lay in education and in 1871 he was persuaded to accept the president's position at Bowdoin College where he restructured the college curriculum to include science and engineering. Chamberlain was also active in the Grand Army of the Republic, the national organization of Union veterans. He resigned from Bowdoin College in 1883 due to ill health, but continued to write about his war-time experiences and remained active in veteran circles. He later dabbled in several businesses including real estate, but none satisfied him as much as education. In 1893, Congress honored him with the Congressional Medal of Honor for gallantry at Gettysburg. In 1900, he was appointed Surveyor of the Port of Maine, a position which he held until his death on February 14, 1914. General Chamberlain is buried in Pine Grove Cemetery in Brunswick, Maine.

gol durnit! I didn't phrase that question very well! The Ramrod Kid is correct for a point! Congrats and welcome to the game! I was looking for the name of his house band from his television show so I will award another point to whomever gets that.
